a/n: I got inspired to write some angst by one of @lets-just-daydream‘s angsty Gabriel stories and so this was the outcome (I was also listening to ‘Goodbye’ by 2NE1 so I almost cried o(╥﹏╥)o)

“Gabe, please don’t go,” you pleaded to him after several attempts to stop him. You knew he was strong enough to handle it but what if the enemy was just too strong for him? What if they already knew of his plan? What if.. he doesn’t come back? All of the worst outcomes were taking over your mind, driving you to the point of insanity.

Gabriel had being given a mission by Commander Jack Morrison himself and you could not believe he had given Gabriel this specific mission. The mission: infiltrate one of the world’s most dangerous gun facilities that had connections all over the world and all by himself. Yes, Gabriel was the leader of Blackwatch but this was just too much for just one man to handle. Despite your protests, the man himself would not budge, exclaiming that “it was his job.”

You watched as he packed his bags, getting ready to leave in a few minutes. You had to do something to prevent him from leaving but you had already used every possible excuse.

“You know this is too dangerous right?”

“It’s a gun facility! And the biggest one!”

“You don’t care if you die!?”

“What will I do if… you die?”

“I won’t die, I promise,” he said, quite annoyed at your constant bickering. Once he had finished with his bags, he got closer to you and took a hold of your arms. You couldn’t possibly look at his face right now; this was just too painful for you.

“Please look at me, cariño,” he asked softly, very close to a whisper. If this was the last time you would see him, might as well look at him now. You raised your face so you could see his and you couldn’t believe how calm he still looked. He gave you a soft smile and squeezed your arms a little tighter.

“I will come back because I have you. Whenever I’m on a mission, I always think about you. How you are waiting for me to return home, your arms awaiting to embrace me so tightly. Also, I’m an enhanced soldier so there’s no way I’m not coming back, especially to you, amor.” You closed your eyes, tears beginning to fall down your cheeks. Gabriel took one of his hands to one of your stained cheeks and cleaned it with his thumb.

“Don’t cry, please. There’s no need to cry.” He grasped your face between his hands, looking deeply at your eyes once you had opened them. Your face was breaking his heart but if he dared to show you any sign of weakness from his part, he knew he would make you suffer more than you already were. He leaned forward and captured your lips in his almost too hungrily. Before the kiss could deepen, he withdrew and placed his forehead against yours.  

“Wait for me. I will come back to you, mi amor.”
