kissing anywhere but the lips for @wingroad

The split in his lip aches, the bruise only starting to show its true colors—a warm, angry red. He can still taste blood on the tip of his tongue, can still feel the jolt of bone meeting teeth through the flimsy shield of his bottom lip.  

Kuroko hands him a damp cloth and shakes his head, murmuring something about Kagami running mindlessly into the sharp point of Aomine’s elbow, which Kagami thinks is pretty rich coming from a guy who routinely charges headlong into almost-fights with shady dudes three times his size. At least Kagami had the excuse of accidentally getting the shit kicked out of him from playing basketball. 

He says as much, coughing, “Nash Gold,” into the rag pressed against his mouth, but Kuroko just ignores him, as Kuroko does when Kagami makes an excellent point, and says:

“Do you want me to kiss it and make it all better?” 

Kagami’s lip throbs in response. “Hard pass.” 

Kuroko has the gall to look offended, climbing into Kagami’s lap to take over holding the cloth against Kagami’s lips. “Kagami’s lack of creativity never fails to astound me.” 

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?!” Kagami complains, though his ire is lessened somewhat by the way his voice sounds all muffled and wet, his reasonable protests trapped beneath damp cotton. 

Kuroko’s lips are warm and soft against his ear. “It means I don’t have to kiss you here–” the cloth drags slowly, slowly across Kagami’s parted mouth, “to make you feel better.” 

“Oh.” 

“Oh,” Kuroko agrees, cradling Kagami’s face so tenderly it almost hurts. 

Kagami closes his eyes and tips back his head, making way for a trail of kisses from the tip of his ear to the hollow of his throat.  Kagami holds still, holds onto to Kuroko and lets the ache slip from his mouth to a heart that pounds hard and fast beneath Kuroko’s touch.
